Why I Jumped Ship from Cleveland:
Finally jumped ship from the Browns after 42 years. The first crack was the signing of sexual predator and general piece of trash human being Deshaun Watson after getting rid of Baker Mayfield after one off season due to injury. When that happened, I greatly lost interest and stopped watching the games on Sundays, and only tuned in if it was MNF/TNF. Before they traded for him, everyone knew the issues with him. I would have understood if they got him for a bag of footballs and a case of good beer, but they paid $230 million to him. Guaranteed….knowing he'd miss the first 11 games of the 2022 season. The Browns have had a lot of hard years in the past 27 years, but it wasn't until then that I doubted they were even trying anymore. It's one thing to give it your best and fail, it's a whole other to make willful stupid moves.
Now in 2026 with Watson in his last year of his contract, the Browns had no choice to keep him on the roster or face a devastating cap hit. I get that. But somehow, some way….Todd Monken decides to start Watson despite Shedeur Sanders being the better QB (albeit marginally). Yeah, I'm out.
Why I Chose the Bills:
I moved to the Twin Tiers region (Southern NY state/Northern PA) 3 years ago. The area is about evenly divided between Bills and Steelers fans. I could never bring myself to root for the Steelers, but I liked the blue-collar appeal of the Bills. Josh Allen is a great QB, and seems like a good person off the field too. That matters to me. The team shows lots of promise and while I realize that the NFL is cyclical, I don't mind rooting for a team with a bad record as long as I believe they are trying their best given the current circumstances….so I'm saying I'm here for the good years but am prepared to stay for the bad as long as the front office isn't willfully trying to suck like the Browns are now.
Also, that new stadium is great, even with a few obstructed views. The fact that they kept it outdoors while the Browns are building an indoor Temple of Greed for the wine & cheese crowd makes it even better.
With that being said, what are the top three things I should know about the Bills franchise?
