- Hairston looked completely lost. Was a target in the run game (at one point they ran at him multiple plays in a row), and got turned around in zone.
- Bishop was up at the line quite a bit (as well as deep), way more than last year. I think Leonhard sees Bishop as playing his old role. CJGJ was typically back.
- They used Hamlin in the old Taron Johnson nickel back role a bit, when Bishop and CJGJ were on the field.
- Bradley Chubb played decently despite no big plays, solid against the run and constant rush pressure (if not a game wrecker). I think he'll be ok.
- Oliver was bad in the run game.
- The ILBs both struggled, woudln't be surprised to see KEO take one of their spots soon.
- Deone Walker was the best player on the defense, wouldn't be suprised if he's the team DMVP this year.
- The blitz not getting home had a lot to do with the timing being way off, i think this gets better.
All in all a rough outing with a few bright spots. First game baseline, we'll see where they go from here.
