After losing David Edwards in free agency, the Buffalo Bills knew they’d have a competition for the left guard spot ahead of the 2026 season, and they’re reportedly picked a winner.
According to Alaina Getzenberg, who covers the Bills for ESPN, a familiar face will be the starting left guard for Buffalo to begin the 2026 season:
Anderson beat out veteran Austin Corbett, the latter of whom was the No. 33 overall selection in the 2018 draft and has 101 games of NFL experience, including the postseason. He signed a one-year deal with the Bills in late March.
Anderson has been with the Bills since 2022 after going undrafted out of UCLA. He was developed on the practice squad for the next two seasons before making his NFL regular-season debut in 2024 as an extra blocker in jumbo formations.
He held onto that job in 2025 but has yet to play 350 snaps in a single season in the NFL — counting playoffs.
Anderson has grown into a fan favorite due to his nasty demeanor on the field — he’s regularly blocking through the whistle and is always ready to scuffle if opponents get chippy.
In February, before free agency opened, Anderson and the Bills agreed on one-year contract extension worth $2.5 million.
He’ll turn 27 in October, so Anderson should be entering the prime of his career but is certainly the most inexperienced member of Buffalo’s sturdy offensive line.
