Linebacker Shaq Thompson returns to Buffalo, signing with Bills’ practice squad

‘Thompson has 11 seasons of NFL experience — the first 10 with Carolina — and had been unsigned since his one-year contract with Bills expired in March. The 32-year-old provides depth at inside linebacker for a defense switching to a 3-4 system under new coordinator Jim Leonhard. The Bills’ active roster features just four inside linebackers, led by starters Terrel Bernard and Dorian Williams. Thompson had six starts in 12 games with Buffalo last season.’
